My blogging workflow
It’s only recently that I’ve started writing my posts in English. I used to write them in Swedish and then translate them.
With these changes in mind, and with me being back on Bear, I thought it was time to update my blogging workflow post. If you’re curious, there’s also a page with workflows from other bloggers. Maybe you want to share yours too?
Ok, here’s my current blogging workflow...
Writing
I usually do my writing in the iA Writer app, and always in full-screen mode. I love just having my words on the screen, nothing else begging for attention.
I never keep drafts. I just write what comes to mind, or something I’ve had in mind during the day. Usually it’s about something I’ve experienced recently.
Editing
When I’m happy with the text, I read it through and sometimes rearrange or delete something. I rarely add anything more to it.
After that, I use ChatGPT to proofread the text. I have a strict prompt about not rewriting things, and even allowing some Swenglish. Usually, there aren’t that many corrections, and often I just stick with the original.
Sometimes while writing, I do a small part in Swedish. It might be a saying where I don’t know the English equivalent. So I do it in my native language to not lose the flow, and then check it afterwards.
Formatting
I usually end by skimming through the text to see if there’s something I want to emphasize or split up. Sometimes I throw in a link to a related blog post, either one of my own or someone else’s post that has inspired me.
Title
I never have an idea for a title before I start writing. Often I don’t even know what the post will be about. Sometimes the title pops up while I’m writing, but usually it comes naturally when I’m done.
Posting
Ok, time to share it with the world. I only have the title: part in my Bear template. I’ve tried using tags, but my overthinking brain can’t deal with it.
There’s one thing I sometimes do before I hit the publish button, though. I save it as a draft and change the link: part. For example, changing the I found a Bear sticker in Thailand slug from /i-found-a-bear-sticker-in-thailand/ to /bear-sticker-thailand/. Did I mention I’m an overthinker?
So, there you have it, my blogging workflow for 2026.
What does yours look like? Please let me know and I’ll add you to the Our blogging workflow post.
Happy blogging!
